Well Facebook did it well and truly,104,000,000,000 is quite the number, but where and what happens now with this capital expansion, and share's which seem to have gone really nowhere in the last 24hrs. or so?
I know that Goldman Sachs made out with as you'd expect Goldman Sachs to do, they made a killing, as did Microsoft, BBR, and some other less than dishonourable mentions.
One guy named Thiel, a South African, who made his first zillions with PayPal, he got in early with around US$500,000 of venture capital in 2004, a pitence for him, when Facebook was valued at around US$5 million.
Today Mr.Thiel will walk away with, no this is for real, his half million investment will be worth a staggering US$670 million!
Not bad eh!
Do i care? No, i just write what i think are valid and legitimate accounts and complaints as other people do in their blogs, i just happen to be read by a larger audience than some, like John Safran, but if you know who i'm talking about, I have no real grounds to boast!
A less informed person with access to millions of people on a radio program 8-10 sunday night on JJJ, i'm amiss to think of!
A Religious fundamentalist piffle speaking half arse, who the Hell allows this to freakin happen?
If Mr.Thiel was in the right place at the right time, his serendipity, my beef is with people who are completely irresponsible both morally and socially with millions and millions of dollars, sometimes billions of dollars!
The Koch brothers from Texas are some really notorious players in this playing around,The Kingpins of anti greenhouse spin, distorting in their own way "OUR" Democracy, corrupting those open for corruption,....we all have a good idea of Politicians all over the world, and our own Politicians in some cases who are corrupt and are like a crust of poisonous algae hanging around the neck of 21 st. century Democracies, these people are very slippery people, their like teflon, as nothing ever can stick to them, as "They" run the show,i.e J.Edgar "Mary" Hoover!
My own personal prediction about Facebook, and let me add,"I have never, and will never have a Facebook page fullstop"!
I think with the way the computing and integration of Facebook in everyones life is a dream of someone who was able to get the idea on Television, I don't think it will become a requirement for all to have, as there are always options to opt out of ANYTHING OR EVERYTHING!
I also think and will predict this now that Facebook, as we all are well versed in it's funtions and format today, will absoleutly not exist at all!
What will cause Facebook's extinction?
Early over valuation of Facebook stock, and as a business, with a model of business truly ready for the "REAL" globalization of the "Net".
US$38 a share in the IPO is great for the early guys, but for the general public, buyer beware as they say!
There are also many technological variable's currently, 4th generation computers and computing, aswell as past technological trends since the beginning of patenting inventions, that for me, as a non gambler, would gamble by the time 2017 rolls around, Facebook will have only a small fraction of the people it has now, which are no doubt it's heydays,"Things just go downhill from here on"
I also think that children being born today, will only know about Facebook through history of the internet, key moments, obviously but where the hell these "Investors" think it will lead for the current public buyers to see any dividends on their capital expenditure?I don't think so, the ones who will make out best are the ones who sold their share's today, If "they" thought that it was going to make endless cash for them, then why sell today, it's like holding onto a hand grenade, you don't want to stand up and expose yourself to the enemy until the last monent, but if you hold on too long your up the creek, that's why they all sold today, "THEY" all know it's not going to be fun from here on out, anyone remember Enron?
I think, if i remember correctly, that at a high, Enron sales were worth US$88-92 each, within about eight months it was worth sweet F.A.!
When ever there's that much money sloshing around, you can GUARANTEE that there are crooks swindling the money in some way shape or form every damn day!
I think "Zuck" over time, will become a recluse, not along the lines of Howard Hughes, but who know's how long Zuck will live,he could easily live another fifty years, what kind of technologies will be around then?, i don't believe Facebook will be relevent then at all!
These are my own opinions,i have no bias towards non biased based organizations
Ciao 4 Now!
