The International Art Group has opened a gallery space at 4161 N. Damen, through the joint collaboration of the International Art Group [IAG], Phantom Gallery Chicago Network, and Good Management Company.

On Thursday 26 April, I attended the opening reception of Forms & Fragments at the InterContinental Chicago O'Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois. My expectations of classic "Motel Room Art" and a tacky "Starving Artist Sale" quickly dissipated upon entering The Art Museo section of the lobby. As the title suggests, subtle contradictions frame Jin Lee's current show, The Near and the Far at the Devening Project Space. There is always the stark contrast of interior vs. exterior at Devening: the dilapidation of West Carroll that secrets the crisp clean whiteness of the gallery. Lee's photographs soften, yet continue this contrast, playing stark against serene, universality against specificity, and yes, near against the distant far.
