Vintage Crime and Criminals Black Gangsters of the 1950s Mug Shots of New York Collection Jim Linderman Real Black Gangsters, I guess. Criminals from the 1950s, but presumed innocent until proven otherwise. I'm not kidding one bit. Given attitudes, practices and institutional racism from 50 plus years ago, these sharp-dressers might have been just walking to work. Roerich Sketch Recovered

According to a Roerich Museum representative, the sketch "Talung Monastery" stolen on June 28 was returned yesterday, August 14 (pictured above). The work by Nicholas Roerich was donated to the museum last year, however little is known about its provenance or history. Currently, the NYPD are examining the padded envelope in which it was mailed for fingerprints, in addition to investigating the name and address that were printed on it.
