Hello frends! I am an artist. My roots take place in St.Petersburg, which has great architecture, culture and history that influenced me once and forever. Today, in the times of technical progress, mass production and new artificial materials I search for inspiration in the foundation of the Arts - old Russian Orthodox icons, Renaissance and folk cultures. I seek out look for new shapes and images within my themes using different materials, but my favorite is glass for its plasticity and abi... [more]
My work deals with the perception of spaces. Since my early years I have always scanned the atmosphere as soon as I entered a space. Many people unconsciously and automatically do the same. I am conscious of this scanning and therefore the atmosphere reverberates in me. I always position myself in a space in such a way that I feel safe and that I am able to read the environment.
My paintings are like gates, openings and cracks, they are doors to another reality. These are the physical exits to... [more]

I dropped off a couple of my favorite paintings at Marta Stafford Fine Art yesterday. Before I became an artist, I don’t think I realized what a personal process creating art can be. I certainly couldn’t appreciate the attachment an artist might feel to some of his/her works – the attachment I’m feeling now. Some pieces are harder than others to let go. I suppose these difficult-to-release pieces are those that I find comfort in. They seem (to me) to be whole, complete, and dee... [more]
Art, for Broadway Housing Communities, has been a connector and a vehicle of intention and pride. Understanding its significance in engaging, building and strengthening communities, the organization has woven the value of arts and culture into its practice since opening the doors of their first residential development in 1986. It is BHC's mission to counter poverty and homelessness through an affordable and supportive housing model that now encompasses seven apartment buildings in West Harlem and Upper... [more]
A new Clear Painting is added to the set.
The Clear Paintings, dating to 2004, are the first that I'm aware of in the history of art.
While I scratch away on two new bronzes, and a few more abstract paintings with color as content, it seemed right to go forward with a couple more clears. Anyone familiar with art history will probably be able to catch the drift to the clears, and able to place them in the genre. They, in part, re-validate post-... [more]
The Paintings of Moholy-Nagy: The Shape of Things to Come puts forth a unique take on Moholy-Nagy's painted work with the incorporation of two interventionist pieces by other creators and a smattering of his own theatrical and photographic works. Due to the technology-based works’ expense and inherent complications, Moholy-Nagy reinvestigated painting as a medium to explore light and optics, while still drawing inspiration from these periodic experiments with other media. Perhaps somewhat mi... [more]
