Hello frends! I am an artist. My roots take place in St.Petersburg, which has great architecture, culture and history that influenced me once and forever. Today, in the times of technical progress, mass production and new artificial materials I search for inspiration in the foundation of the Arts - old Russian Orthodox icons, Renaissance and folk cultures. I seek out look for new shapes and images within my themes using different materials, but my favorite is glass for its plasticity and abi... [more]

"Believers" acrylic painting by Fernando Carpaneda
"I don't like to be treated special just because I'm an artist. I prefer still drinking "Pabst Blue Ribbon" than drink "Champagne". Money and fame doesn't mean anything to me."

This is one of my latest paintings that I finished in September 2015. The inspiration behind it was for me to branch out and become a different self within reasonable distances from my mind to my brush. With all the amazing things happening this year with my art, I am always trying to come up with new ways to broadcast my trees and images by using colors that do not quite reflect but at the same time carry.I was quite pleased with the turn out of this piece. This painting is 30"W by 40"H by... [more]

ABSTRACT IN COOL BLUE
Painting: Acrylic on Wood
Size: 36 H x 36 W x 2 inches
I have always loved the landscapes and abstractions by Canadian "Group of Seven" painter Lawren Harris and, an independent painter Richard Billmeier, who is also Canadian. Harris's scenes of the Canadian north could cool the Mojave desert. Billmeier's landscapes with their magnetic horizon lines, blocky colours and visual intrigue ask me to engage again and again. Some of Billmeier's landcapes in orange could melt a... [more]
I am curently engaged in exploring ideas and tools in an abstract format. I love the feel and various levels of subtlety that black chalk or charcoal can make on different surfaces. I also love experimenting with layering different materials on a surface and the richness of textures and complexity that results. A lot of my recent work has been in black and white because I feel that some concepts can be more powerfully expressed if the eye and mind are not distracted by color. When I do use color... [more]

“I’m scared to go back.”
We were all squeezed into wooden folding chairs with a crowd standing around the perimeter of the room at Last Projects, on the second floor, where an old air conditioner, inadequately exhaling intermittent wafts of cool air, and a set of heavy Venetian blinds blocked out the sights and sounds of Hollywood Boulevard below. It was nearing 10pm.
Their screening was over, and Pink, as she would like to be called, was at the front of the room, standing with her... [more]
