Delire Gallery presents Pierre Lefebvre "New Paintings"

January 31 - March 1, 2014

Opening Reception Thursday, January 30 from 5 to 9 pm

Delire Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of new paintings by Pierre Lefebvre. The Belgian artist joined Delire gallery in 2013 and this marks his second solo show with the gallery. Pierre Lefebvre’s work manifests a particular interest for social practices linked to consumption. Sketching the contemporary world wherein the human figure is absent, or through fragments suggesting more than what they portray. The artist develops a painting practice revealing our daily behaviours, starting from our unconsidered actions in public spaces to the psychogeographical implications of its organisation.  While the neo-liberal society choses for a sterile ideology undermining the analysis, Pierre Lefebvre positions himself as a simple witness and opens doors to the essence of the spectacular society.

Born in 1975 in Charleroi, Belgium. Pierre Lefebvre lives and works in Brussels.
