At the request of the curator, two contemporary artists with international reputations enter into a dialogue with Constant Permeke. As Permeke did in his own time, they give a timeless dimension to the tradition of drawing and painting. Thierry De Cordier (born in Oudenaarde in 1954) shares with many modern Flemish masters a love of Ostend and of still landscape. His work is not earthbound, but is rooted in the metaphysical. De Cordier exhibits extremely selectively.

À la demande du commissaire, deux artistes contemporains de renommée internationale sont confrontés à Constant Permeke. Comme Permeke en son temps, ils confèrent une dimension intemporelle à la tradition du dessin et de la peinture. Thierry De Cordier (Audenarde, °1954) partage avec de nombreux maîtres flamands une passion pour Ostende et les paysages calmes. Son travail n’est pas de ce monde, c’est une prière métaphysique. Thierry De Cordier est très sélectif dans le choix de ses expositions.

Twee hedendaagse kunstenaars met internationale uitstraling gaan op vraag van de curator de confrontatie aan met Constant Permeke. Net zoals Permeke destijds deed, geven zij een tijdloze dimensie aan de traditie van tekenen en schilderen. Thierry De Cordier (Oudenaarde, °1954) deelt met tal van moderne Vlaamse meesters een voorliefde voor Oostende en het verstilde landschap. Zijn werk is niet aards, maar gebed in het metafysische. De Cordier stelt uiterst selectief tentoon.
