dr. julius | ap mediates between art and architecture. The basis for our dedication stems from two decades of experience with concept and practice, as well as history and theory of Nonrepresentational Art and architecture. In our exhibitions and projects, we point out the extensive relations between the two disciplines. We want to reveal their mutual artistic, conceptual and intellectual influences.
Both in our own exhibition space in Berlin as well as at art fairs and in collaboration with other galleries, we represent artists and their work within this scope.
More concise examination of the subject began with our exhibition stadt+kunst | cityscape at the 05th berliner kunstsalon in 2008. All works of the artists who were invited dealt with the daily use of cities and artistic translation of architectural space. They ranged from installations to Generative Graphics and from Concrete Sculpture to painting and Architecture Photography.
Ever since, we focus on New Constructivist and Concrete Art comparing their intentions directly with the systematics behind Architecture and Architecture Photography.
