As a resident living in this capital city, Bongout knows that local talent is the treasure of Berlin, and find it imperative to support them. A special program was developed with this in mind, and a Call for Berlin-Based Artists was broadcast throughout the city. The response was deafening. Cristina Ayala, Anna Hellsgård and Christian Gfeller set forth evaluating hundreds of portfolios and visiting artists' studios in every Kiez of Berlin. The energy behind this was in discovering ambitious artists with clear vision. A selection of seven was made.

Bongout is proud to exhibit works by Cornelia Brintzinger (DE), Nicolas Fontaine (CA), Katia Fouquet (DE), Florian Gwinner (DE), Jakob Hinrichs (DE), Hannes Neipold (DE) and Various & Gould (DE).

The selections came from the realm of Berlin's graphic, comic, and illustration sub-culture art scenes. With raw, sometimes trashy elements these works are refreshingly cool and have captured the fierce energy of creating new works in this ever changing city. These emerging young artists flaunt their strong handle on expression through material as well as in color and subject. You will find a variety of media in this exhibition, including silkscreen, collage, video, installation, paper cut outs, and painting.

To accompany this exhibition, Bongout will design and publish Berliner Brücken, a fanzine.
