In a small, dirty transvestite-run gallery in Neukölln towers a cathedral for the disenfranchised. Its framework humbly begins on the gallery floor where the artworks of thirteen international artists are displayed as a site-specific curatorial installation. Join in our sacrilege as we take the precious art object off the wall and create a perverse ritual sacredness to the art viewing experience. Visitors will be able to view these artworks as they walk over them, as originally conceived in one of the curator's dreams.
The Devil is a Loser and He’s my Bitch: Devout Sacrilege is a shrill cry for the autonomy of the sacred. It is not reactionary to conventional notions of the sacred, but its own freakish form. With the hopes of opening up a space for plural and alternative sacred(s), these thirteen artists use their sacrilege to subvert the normative holy.
