The exhibition SOURCE/RESOURCE seeks to encompass a spectrum of diverse artistic practices by a group of artists working in varied media, but all of whom employ photography in their creative process, be it as source material, literal material, or the vehicle through which a piece is realized. With the increasing scope of technological innovations in digital imaging, photography is no longer an end unto itself, but rather one of the many tools that an artist- who is not considered a "photographer"- uses to record information, manipulate imagery, construct reference and generate meaning. Surfaces are deconstructed, abstracted and reapplied to create entirely unique objects, while remaining, in a sense, indebted to their origins and to the medium of photography.
