Hello frends! I am an artist. My roots take place in St.Petersburg, which has great architecture, culture and history that influenced me once and forever. Today, in the times of technical progress, mass production and new artificial materials I search for inspiration in the foundation of the Arts - old Russian Orthodox icons, Renaissance and folk cultures. I seek out look for new shapes and images within my themes using different materials, but my favorite is glass for its plasticit... [more]

Husserl says that “…fiction is the source whence the knowledge of eternal truths draws its sustenance.” (Husserl, Ideas 200-1).
In order to approach his perplexing theory more easily, we should begin with Husserl’s own example with an artwork - Durer’s engraving The Knight, Death, and the Devil. Husserl explains how in imagination and perception consciousness may be directed toward the same object, but in a different way. Perception takes as its object the e... [more]

ANCIENT WARRIOR TORSO PROJECT - Commentary By Robert Curcio;
“They are direct castings of an actual person which gives it history and a sense of familiarity to the viewer. By placing it at the same height as the person, the viewer has a physical relation to the piece. Also, it’s not idealized or a bland generic mannequin or a freak - it’s me, the viewer. The viewer could be having a conversation with this "person" or knows someone just like that. These are all points that mak... [more]
Peter Clothier's scurrilously witty new novel "The Pilgrim's Staff" explores lust, lecherousness, and love through the voices of two men from two disparate centuries. David Soames, a contemporary figurative painter living as an ex-pat in Los Angeles, receives a curious package in the mail from an English cousin. Wrapped in layers of tape and memory is the two hundred year-old journal of an English gentleman, who begins his tale with the words"I am no Rake!" "Rake" is a wonderfully antiquat... [more]

Bite the Cactus is a mini-comic penned by Adrian Chi. Adrian’s storytelling is akin to the cacti and succulents she admires. Her drawings are sparse and direct, but bloom under harsh conditions. #5 is the darkest BTC yet and I think, as a continuum of her work, shows depth and shadow to what is usually a very uplifting comic. But what hasn’t changed is Adrian’s honesty. She has to walk the very uncomfortable tightrope of connecting with distant fami... [more]
