I have used some digital images on fabric in this quilt in a rather interesting way: I had taken some pictures of  patio steps which had been painted several times and many layers of paint were showing through. The steps were in shades of turquoise with rusty undercolours. I used these images to represent some of the clouds in the sky ! Then I created my ascending figures, Japanese and African women with butterfly wings to help them to float skyward. The meaning of this quilt ? I like everyone to have their own  interpretation - I just present the raw materials for your hopes and dreams.
