Witzenhausen Gallery

Serpent's Tail brings to Amsterdam the work of Emma Bennett, Gavin Tremlett, Hugh Mendes, John Stark and Sam Jackson, 5 British artists whose work offers a contemporary continuation of Romanticism. Their work rescues historical artistic forms and languages from past centuries and throws a bridge between the past and the present, acknowledging it at times but often bluntly escaping from it.

Serpent's Tail has been organized in cooperation with Zavier Ellis, director of London gallery Charlie Smith and curator of the yearly show The Future Can Wait.

A booklet about the artists will be available at the opening.
