Active full service art advisory firm in New York City is seeking an intern for Summer 2013. The internship is flexible at 12-15 hours a week.
Intern will have significant direction in the following initiatives:
Social media maintenance and updates (Blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Art Market, Art History and Provenance Research
Event Marketing, Press and Publication Support
S/he will gain exposure to the practicalities of the art world, including determining value, cataloguing standards, the existing and various marketplaces, and how a private firm works.
Qualifications: Current college or graduate student with a strong focus in art history, 20th century art, history and/or visual culture studies. Candidates should know how to conduct autonomous research and work independently. Candidates should be very detail oriented, self-directed, and computer literate (including all social media outlets; Wordpress, Adobe, and Photoshop a plus). Excellent interpersonal and organization skills are a must.
Internship to start June 3, 2013. Minimum commitment of two days per week, but scheduling is flexible. Course credit is possible.
