"Art in the Park" - Lord Mayor's Pavilion - Fitzgerald Park - Cork City - Ireland

Art in the Park is an art project idealized, developed and managed by the Visual Artist Patricia Gurgel Segrillo (www.gurgel-segrillo.com).

The tradition of ‘artist in residence’ programs in parks has a history that stretches back much further than is often thought. The phenomenon has been part of the international art world for over a century.

In the beautiful Arts and Crafts style building (Lord Mayor's Pavilion) the resident artists (P Gurgel Segrillo, Alan Corbett and Gillian Cussen) will create art inspired by the park, as well as, under the advisement of the PhD in Cultural Anthropology Marcelo Vidaurre Archanjo, invite other Cork City artists for collaborations, exhibitions and offer classes, workshops, talks and arts facilitation sessions.
